well the approach is the same as any other submission defence situation. Shine fast for at least 1/4 energy and guage how the camera is zooming. You can usually tell if you need to shine like a crazy hobo by about 1/4 energy consumption
Im very confident in my submission defence. Although I have lost quite a few matches to subs I think i have an above average successful defence rate. that being said I can kinda guage if i need to conserve energy or save my self from a loss pretty easily.
This will take quite some time for some, less for others to get down just right, but like I like to say....
The more you do of
anything, the easier it gets.
